A small workshop that got out of hand
Paw & Pine is the house brand of Henan Jiayi Import & Export. We design the range ourselves, have it made in China, and ship it direct to customers in the United States, the UK, the EU and Australia.
Why we exist
Pet gear is mostly disposable. We wanted the opposite.
Walk into any pet aisle and the products are designed around a price point, not a lifespan. Beds lose their loft in a season. Leads fray at the handle. Bowls chip and get replaced. The category has trained people to expect failure, then to re-buy.
We build from the other direction — start with a material that ages, then a shape that suits a room, then a construction that can be opened up and repaired. It costs more to make. It costs less to own.
The first product
The collar that started it
A waxed canvas collar over a nylon core, with a brass buckle instead of plastic. Our first run was forty pieces, made to our own pattern by a partner workshop. Thirty-nine sold at a weekend market. The fortieth is still on the founder's dog.
It's the same construction today, with two changes: marine thread instead of upholstery thread, and a slightly wider D-ring after a customer sent back a worn one with a note that said "make this bit thicker".
See the collar"If we can't tell you where a material came from, we don't put it next to an animal."

What we actually check
Materials
Organic cotton with GOTS certification, wool from two mills we visit annually, CertiPUR-US foam, and solid brass instead of plated zinc. Supplier names appear on every product page.
Construction
Bar-tacked stress points, marine thread, replaceable inserts. Every product is opened up and inspected at 20× the normal use cycle before it ships.
End of life
Send a worn item back and we either repair it, re-cover it, or take it apart for recycling. Return shipping is on us and you get credit either way.
How we work
A small team, a short supply chain
We design the range ourselves and have it made by a small number of long-term partner factories in China. No licensing, no white-label catalogue, no dropship.
That's why the range is small and why restocks take six weeks. It's also why we can change a D-ring in a week when a customer tells us it's wrong.
